Un weekend ad Anversa

Anversa, la città di Rubens, ma anche una delle capitali europee della moda d'avanguardia. E non solo.
Qui la creatività esplode ad ogni angolo intorno a quell'indiscusso fulcro rappresentato dal Fashion Department della Royal Accademy od Fine Arts all'interno dell'edificio in Nationalestraat che ospita il ModeMuseum, o MoMu come viene chiamato abitualmente. In cartellone fino al prossimo 13 febbraio la mostra "Stephen Jones & het accent op mode" sui 30 anni della maison del famoso cappellaio inglese che vanta tra le sue collaborazioni stilisti come Marc Jacobs, John Galliano e Christian Dior.

A pochi passi dal Museo, RA, un ex garage adesso concept store molto cool dove accanto a stilisti emergenti come Akira Naka anche i gioielli, tutti pezzi unici, griffati Heaven Tanudiredja e strabilianti abiti vintage delle marche più celebrate dell'universo moda. Da non perdere, almeno per curiosità, la boutique Erotishe Berbeelding in Kloosterstraat 165 dove è possibile ammirare biancheria intima très chic accanto a libri e ad oggetti erotici.
E visto che anche il palato vuole la sua parte è d'obbligo una fermata da Gunther Watté con i suoi cioccolatini da lasciare davvero a bocca aperta! Mentre per la colazione, un light lunch o per la cena (ma attenti perché chiude alle 20) non c'è niente di meglio che Farines Food, in Vlaamsekaai 30, gestito dalla simpatica Justine e da sua figlia Alexandra, chef dek ristorante. Il costo? 10€ per la prima colazione e 25€ al massimo per il pranzo e la cena.
E per tutti gli amanti del jazz - quello migliore - ecco de Hopper mentre per dormire, la guest house MO851 (Nationalestraat 19) proprio sopra l'omonimo negozio di pelletteria. Solamente tre camere, luminosissime, in stile minimal-chic in pieno centro!

B&B Sofie Lachaert (Belgium)

Tielrode è un piccolo villaggio nella stupenda campagna belga dove il fiume Durme confluisce nello Schede. A 15 minuti di strada il villaggio di Antwerp e a 30 minuti Ghent e Bruxelles.

In questo luogo incantato, al termine di una piccola strada Sofie Lachaert e Luc d’Hanis hanno aperto nel 2000 la loro galleria d’arte, proprio accanto all’abitazione e all’atelier. Un modo per vivere e lavorare a stretto contatto. Una galleria in cui si respira un’atmosfera rilassata che permette al visitatore di poter ammirare le loro creazioni nella più totale calma. Gli interni minimalisti e sobri seguono la stessa filosofia che si ritrova nel nuovo B&B Sofie Lachaert realizzato nello stesso edificio in cui le camere rispecchiano in pieno lo stile della galleria.

Solo due camere, una con un letto matrimoniale king-size, l’altra con due letti singoli, i cui arredi sono stati disegnati e realizzati dai proprietari. Un interessante mix di oggetti contemporanei e vintage provenienti dalla galleria, tutti in vendita.

Da non perdere la ricchissima prima colazione a base di prodotti freschi e fatti in casa tra cui la famosa cioccolata che viene servita nella galleria stessa. E poi, i clienti sono naturalmente invitati a fare un giro guidato tra i lavori dei due artisti.
Tielrode, Belgium, is a small town in the magnificent river landscape where the Durme flows into the Schelde, fifteen minutes drive from Antwerp and thirty minutes from Ghent or Brussels.

At the end of the little street that runs down to the ferry, late in 2000 Sofie Lachaert and Luc d’Hanis opened the new accommodations for their gallery in the spaces next door to their home and ateliers, so that living and work are inseparably linked with each other. The gallery is an oasis of calm where one can relax and enjoy the beauty of what is presented there.

The interior of the old building has been kept minimalist and sober; here the artist’s oeuvre plays the leading role. This same philosophy extends to the newly opened B&B Sofie Lachaert accommodations too that mirrors the subtle style of the gallery. The decor of the two guest rooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with twin beds, was designed by the owners. An interesting blend of contemporary and vintage, of art objects and utensils from the gallery. Much of what you see is also for sale.

The extensive breakfast with many fresh ingredients is served in the gallery, using the silver and cutlery by various artists. Guests can enjoy home-made rolls and conserves, eggs fresh from the B&B’s own henhouse, freshly squeezed fruit juice and expresso, all rounded off with - last but not least! - Belgian chocolates. After breakfast, guests are invited to join in an exclusive guided tour of the gallery.

Hotel Amigo

È considerato il miglior albergo di lusso di Bruxelles. È l'Hotel Amigo (Rocco Forte Collection) adiacente ad una delle piazze più belle d'Europa, la Grand Place, nelle vicinanze del quartiere finanziario della città e a pochi passi dall'antico quartiere Le Sablon e per questo considerato un ottimo punto di partenza per esplorare la capitale belga.

Figure di Tintin o Snowy il cane ravvivano le pareti con un tocco di sofisticato humour.
Ottimo il ristorante Bocconi che propone una cucina mediterranea se pur rivisitata dalla creatività dello chef Vincenzo Regine che ama giocare con i profumi e i sapori della sua isola di origine, Ischia. Dall’atmosfera decisamente moderna il bar Amigo che per questo si stacca del tutto dal resto dell’albergo dove troverete un'ampia scelta di cocktail e snack per un eccellente aperitivo mentre per il dopocena potete scegliere tra i migliori cognac e whiskies.
